The use of wood stains
The easiest way to obtain painting effects is by means of a stain, which dries slower than ordinary paint, so it is suitable for longer processing. This feature also allows you to wipe the unsuccessful layer and start work again. You can buy ready-to-use glaze or paint for special effects, available in many colors and varieties – both pearls, and translucent. You can also create your own glaze, by mixing emulsion paint with glossy water-based enamel or pigment with acrylic or oil clear glaze, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
The art of applying the stain is to paint in small fragments and prevent the edge of the already painted wall from drying out., so that there are no visible boundaries between the individual parts. It is best to work with someone – one person applies the stain, the other one is working on a special effect very quickly.
When we are done applying, and the surface will dry well, we put a layer of transparent, matt varnish of polyurethane acrylic tubes, waterborne, in order to protect the treated surface against dirt and to make it resistant to scrubbing.
1 We paint a colorful wall with azure, by making brush strokes in an alternating direction.
2 After applying the first layer of the glaze, mark the plumb line with a spirit level (according to him, we will perform vertical brush strokes).
3 With a clean brush (about 75 mm in width) we drag it vertically over the wet azure, so that vertical strokes are created
