Contemporary wallpapers can be divided into three categories: paper, plastic and textile.
There is such a great variety of styles and functions within these groups, that the right choice can be quite a problem for a layman, so it will be best, if we first consider the practical features of the cladding.
Plastics are usually the most resistant – the hardest to tear or wipe them, they can be scrubbed and washed. Some of them are insulating or waterproof. Paper wallpapers, both those intended to be painted over, as well as decorative, they are less wear-resistant, however, they perfectly cover surface irregularities. Certain paper wallpapers and textile coverings (e.g.. silk) they fulfill only decorative functions.
Color, pattern and pattern can significantly change the character and proportions of a room, therefore they should be chosen with great care. The colors and style of the furniture are also important, which we want to set in a given room – you should choose the wallpaper, whose color and design work best with the furnishings.
The price is often the decisive factor when it comes to the choice of cladding. The dispersion in this case is quite significant – from cheap printed paper to expensive silk fabrics; it is also worth visiting the surrounding shops to compare prices. Sometimes we cannot afford to cover all the walls with expensive wallpaper, however, a half-way solution can be found, combining two types of cladding. This should be borne in mind, that rolls that are on sale are generally cheaper than those selected from catalogs and shipped on special order.
Most wallpapers can be purchased in rolls of a length 10 m and width 50 cm, sometimes, however, the scrolls are wider. You will usually find all the details regarding the dimensions in the catalog offered by the manufacturer.
